How to Make Wildflower Honey Shortbread Bars

Are you in the mood for sweet and spicy shortbread bars? If so, you may want to start preparing the necessary ingredients to make enticing wildflower honey shortbread bars.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup and 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (separated)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ cup cream wildflower honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Procedure

  1. First, place the butter, 1 cup of sugar, and ½ teaspoon of salt in a regular-sized bowl.  With the use of a hand mixer, mix the ingredients for approximately 2 minutes until the mixture is completely fine.
  2. While you are mixing the ingredients, slowly add the flour and continue with the mixing process until the dough gets together.
  3. Split the dough into quarters.  Try to mold each quarter into the shape of a small log, and cover it with a plastic wrap.
  4. Combine the left over quarters and form it into the shape of a disc.  Wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate the log-shaped and disc-shaped quarters for about an hour until it becomes firm.
  5. Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees, and start to heat it.  Unwrap the disc-shaped dough and press it into a metal cake pan filled with butter.  Make sure that the dough completely covers the pan, and set it aside.
  6. Unwrap the log-shaped dough and roll it into a 6-by-8-inch rectangular form.  Afterward, place it on an unbuttered baking pan.
  7. Put the metal cake pan on the oven’s top rack, and place the baking pan on the center one.  Bake the former for about 30 to 35 minutes, while the latter for 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Once both pans have cooled, transfer them to a cooling rack.  Spread the honey over the cake pan, and crush the rectangular shaped shortbreads and sprinkle its crumbs over the honey-filled cake pan.
  9. Cut the shortbread into five rows in horizontal and vertical directions in order to create 25 squares. Combine the sugar and cinnamon powders, and sprinkle them over the shortbread to finalize your recipe.

In 50 minutes (chilling and cooling time included), you can create delicious wildflower honey shortbread bars, which you can enjoy with your loved ones and friends.
